I've just clicked on that link and it took rather more than 20 seconds to respond. I should think the message means exactly what it says. It's possible to change the timeout by setting Java system properties: see http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/guide/net/properties.html Regards, Michael Kay http://www.saxonica.com/ http://twitter.com/michaelhkay > -----Original Message----- > From: Patrick Sahle [mailto:sahle@xxxxxxxxxxxx] > Sent: 02 July 2009 21:35 > To: xsl-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: [xsl] document() results in timeout > > > Hello, > > trying to harvest information from wikipedia with document() > I get the error message > > (Oxygen9 + Saxon-B 9.0.0.6) > org.apache.commons.httpclient.HttpException: The host did not > accept the connection within timeout of 20000 ms > (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angers) > URL: > http://www.w3.org/TR/2005/WD-xpath-functions-20050211/#ERRFODC0005 > [which says: "err:FODC0005, invalid argument to fn:doc"] > > Where does this problem comes from?
