OpenOffice converter too slow and too baggy (converter from Microsoft
too - it even have not support for conditional formatting rules and
equations)

option 4 (XML --> OOXML --> ODF) is not option at all (verry hard to
implement - almost impossible)

about NLM - at least Microsoft work at this -

by the way - look like Amaya XTiger templates is workaround for XML authoring

Look like NLM 3.0 is best option for intermediate format
