In XSLT 2 you might consider something like:
<xsl:param name="KnownXSDTypes" as="element()*"> <type>xsd:date</type> <type>xsd:dateTime</type> <type>xsd:boolean</type> </xsl:param> ... <xsl:template match="xsd:element[@type=$KnownXSDTypes]">
