Subject: Re: [xsl] XSLT & XML DTD compliance From: Dave Pawson <davep@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Sat, 20 Feb 2010 12:28:49 +0000 |
May I please ask the experts on this kind list as to their opinion regarding XML DTDs that a would-be XSLT processor *should* support in the context of post-SGML, contemporary web mood and overall compliance with W3C standards.
In other words, *should* or *must* a decent XSLT processor support XML DTD's for source documents input to an XSLT transform.
Secondly, to what degree are DTDs regarded as "legacy" (and I guess subject to future deprecation)?
Thanks in advance for all replies.
Kindly,
Justin Johansson
I don't see DTD's going away for a long time, just that few are writing new ones due to the enhancements available in more recent schema types.
