Subject: [xsl] XPath 3.0 Functions and Operators: format-number() question From: "Dimitre Novatchev dnovatchev@xxxxxxxxx" <xsl-list-service@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Fri, 30 May 2014 04:51:42 -0000 |
One of the format-number() examples in the F&O 3.0 Recommendation is this: format-number(12.34, '0.000e00') http://www.w3.org/TR/xpath-functions-30/#func-format-number I am trying to evaluate this example in Oxygen XPath/XQuery Builder view, which uses Saxon (9.5.1.3) behind the scenes. I get this error: "XPath failed due to: format-number picture: Passive character must not appear between active characters in a sub-picture" Who is right: the specification, or Saxon? What would be the closest to this example that will not cause any errors? -- Cheers, Dimitre Novatchev --------------------------------------- Truly great madness cannot be achieved without significant intelligence. --------------------------------------- To invent, you need a good imagination and a pile of junk ------------------------------------- Never fight an inanimate object ------------------------------------- To avoid situations in which you might make mistakes may be the biggest mistake of all ------------------------------------ Quality means doing it right when no one is looking. ------------------------------------- You've achieved success in your field when you don't know whether what you're doing is work or play ------------------------------------- To achieve the impossible dream, try going to sleep. ------------------------------------- Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored. ------------------------------------- Typing monkeys will write all Shakespeare's works in 200yrs.Will they write all patents, too? :) ------------------------------------- I finally figured out the only reason to be alive is to enjoy it.
