I apologize if I am asking for something obvious, but straightforward
searching didn't locate any statements about Saxon support
(implementation) of the XPath 3.1 W3C Standard.

My question:

"Does Saxon implement XPath 3.1? If not, is there any planned timeline
for incorporating such support?"

BaseX in its latest version supports XPath 3.1 and I would like to use
it. The people who call my "Xpath-all" style even when writing
transformations "extreme" and are "not at all convinced whether there
is really a use case for ... writing a large part of the application
in XPath" -- these people might now better understand why some
programmers would have BaseX as their only choice at present.

Or, are these facts incorrect?
