bbbbbbHey folks, bbbbbbI just wanted to report back that the solution provided by Dimitre Novatchev with the addition suggested by Martin Honnen worked beautifully for me, tested successfully and integrated nicely into the work I was modifying. Thanks to both Dimitre and Martin especially, but also to everyone - of course - for the helpful suggestions and quick responses. - Matt Van Voorhies ________________________________ From: Michael Kay mike@xxxxxxxxxxxx <xsl-list-service@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, March 17, 2023 9:38 PM To: xsl-list <xsl-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: Re: [xsl] How to remove outer tag if present in XSLT > > This is normal. We figure things out as we go along. > Well said, Wendell. I'm often frustrated when people don't specify their requirement precisely and unambiguously, instead simply describing one example of an input document and saying how that one speciment should be handled. But this is absolutely normal and we all do it all the time. In fact, I think it would be fair to say that much of the success of XSLT is that the processing model works very well in this scenario where there is a progressive understanding of the requirements as development proceeds.
