Subject: Scanning print articles From: "Valerie A. Lang" <langval@xxxxxxxx> Date: Mon, 4 Aug 2003 11:31:36 -0400 |
Hello, I have been asked to research copyright implications re: the following. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Our Instructional Media Center is looking to scan hardcopy print articles that professors have on reserve, and post them on the Instructional Media Center's website. How could this play out in terms of copyright violation? To access various research databases off the College's Library webpage from off-campus, students at HVCC must have a valid username and password. Would a similar requirement for the Instructional Media Center's webpage, on campus and off campus, suffice? Technically, members of the public can use reference computers in our library. These computers are not password protected. Another caveat to this is that it would be up to the individual instructor whether s/he would link to the Instructional Media Center's website off of his or her individual website. Thank you in advance, Valerie A. Lang, J.D., M.L.S. Hudson Valley Community College Troy, New York
