Right.  You perform a scene by showing the "moving" motion picture.  You
display a scene by showing a still shot.  The third circuit recently got
that wrong, ruling that a video clip infringed the exclusive right to
display the work publicly when streamed over the Internet, but it was
more of a sloppy slip-up than a holding.

Most definitely, DVDs are digital copies.  So are CDs.  You can't
"digitize" (i.e. convert from analog to digital) a DVD, because it is
already in digital form.
