WTO and TRIPs Agreements may very well be relevant, as well as the 1952 Universal Copyright Convention. From the UNESCO URL http://portal.unesco.org/culture/en/ev.phpURL_ID=3D15412&URL_DO=3DDO_TOP=IC&URL_SECTION=3D201.html a couple of pertinent references to Japanese copyright law (I would point you to provisions of Article 86 mentioned in the second URL below): Culture > Collection of National Copyright Laws > Asia and the Pacific > Japan The copyright law applicable in Japan was lastly amended by the law June 19, 2002. Link to the law : http://www.cric.or.jp/cric_e/clj/clj.html Japanese website on copyright : http://www.cric.or.jp/cric_e/ Best of Luck, E Roel
