I have been converting as many permissions as possible to "life of
course" which is usually acceptable to most individuals, but not most
publishers. Some publishers will allow longer than one semester at a
time, but the term varies. Some rights holders, usually museums, will
allow "one-time use" defined as the life of the product. I always ask
for clarification.
