Respectfully, but I couldn't disagree more with the below statement. It does
kids a radical disservice to conflate the concepts of copyright (a legal idea)
and plagiarism (a moral/ethical idea). I don't want the Copyright Office
teaching plagiarism education any more than I'd want the Patent Office
teaching etiquette.

I think it is great that they produced such a kid
friendly copyright page, but where they missed the
mark is that kids don't really need to know HOW to
copyright something...  They need to be taught not to
"Copy" copyrighted material and use it thier
schoolwork.

Plagiarism is rampant in my middle school.  The US
Copyright office needs to address that!
