Subject: Face to face lectures and Media on Blackboard: TEACH Act? From: Brandon Butler <brandon@xxxxxxx> Date: Tue, 27 Apr 2010 08:22:29 -0700 |
Brenda, Just to add to what Peter and Kevin have said (a 'fourth opinion,' I guess), below is a link to ARL's recent white paper on streaming entire films to students outside of class, prepared by Jonathan Band, Kenny Crews, Peter Jaszi, and me. We also conclude that fair use is the strongest argument in these cases, although TEACH may be available in certain contexts. <http://www.arl.org/bm~doc/ibstreamingfilms_021810pdf.pdf> Best, Brandon Brandon Butler | Law & Policy Fellow | Association of Research Libraries | brandon@xxxxxxx | w: 202.296.2296 x156 | m: 202.684.6030 | 21 Dupont Circle, DC
