I've never had to wait more than a day or two for something like this. 
Most places can do it in a couple of hours if you're willing to pay the
expedite fee.  That is if it's B/W.  Color is harder, and more
expensive.

But it makes sense to me for you to find someplace local to do it.  If
you decide to do it yourself, maybe you could put an un-retouched,
high-quality (600 dpi or better) scan of the negative and/or one of the
prints on your CD somewhere.  Then I'd probably buy one myself. :-) Do
you think that would be possible?

If you decide to send it to me, I can email you a high quality scan
pretty quickly.
