That struck me as well as I read through the thread... It would depend quite a bit on people accurately labelling what they're posting though, to make searching better. If I want to look at all Stolberg's samples, or all versions of Oystron, how would I search? Perhaps we should discuss a naming convention? Or an "organizing convention", as names should probably stay in 8.3 format for greatest compatibility... > Also there should be a way to categorize important posts and then query > through them for what we are looking for, not just substring searches. Again, an organizational structure might come in handy. In the long run though, it would probably have to be a moderated process. And in general, I think more tutorials and/or a FAQ would be the best, but these involve reorganizing posts' content into well-thought-out documents, and who has the time to do that. Bugger... But I might suggest the following categories: submissions (i.e. original code, to match source & BINs), coding ("why doesn't this work?", "how'd they do that?", "what opcode do I need?"), game design (issues not directly involving code), tools (DASM, emulators, specs, StellaGraph, MAKEWAV, etc), OT: 2600 (games, companies, collecting), OT: Atari (5200, 7800, computers), OT: other (other systems [not sure if Lynx & Jaguar should go here or in OT: Atari though]).
