If you The INI file that comes with PCAE for DOS sets a VESA mode with a resolution of 1600 x 1024 for the file selection screen. If your graphics card or your monitor doesn't support this mode, you have to remove the three corresponding lines from the INI file. Then PCAE comes up in the normal text mode, so that you can select a better graphics mode if you like. But in Glen's case PCAE for Windows might be the better choice anyway.
