Sorry for replying to myself.  ;-)  But the funny license that DASM has, is
one of the reasons I ported the 6502 assembler to DOS that can be found
here:

It is a very primitive assembler compared to DASM.  In particular it has no
macro facility.  But if somebody wanted to make a project out of it, this
might be a good place to start.  There are no restrictions on redistributing
the source code to new versions.
