This is the core of what digital archaeology is all about.  The fact that 
you found traces of earlier versions of the game that were possibly going 
to support some other features is something that would only have been 
possible through a disassembly.  I think he would get a kick out of how far 
we can go to reconstruct the exact programmer's intent from the mere BIN image.

I don't know what the policy at Imagic was.  Bob Smith maintained his 
original source (including his Parker Brothers game).  It would be 
interesting to know whether Rob still has his sources, but I doubt he 
does.  So maybe Rob would see some value in getting his source back, so to 
speak.
