Maybe you could just change e.g. the vertical position of the
horzontal indicator be one or two lines when it's centered.
Why not the color?
I'm using the ball.
I finally added a mark to show the center of the horizontal paddle, but I
never could find a way to indicate the vertical center. I just couldn't
find enough extra cycles. But I don't think it hurts the game too much. I
don't even look at the paddle indicators much anymore. I find I do better
if I pay more attention to the marble's motion.
