What features should it have? What should it do that a `current generation' debugger can't do? I can think of answers to these, but I tend to think in 1980's terms when writing code for the VCS.. to me, something like OmniMon or gdb for the VCS would be ideal... or, for a nicer user interface, something like Borland's old Turbo Debugger utility. Other than user interface, how is a `next generation' debugger different from this? It doesn't materially matter whether you single step by pressing S or by clicking on `next step', they're still the same operation.. what operations does `next generation' imply? This isn't meant as flame-bait, I honestly don't understand what it is that you want. Anyone else with opinions, feel free to sound off.
