That said, is anyone else boggled by the technology choices here? Assembler + DirectX/Input/Sound seems to be like yoking a cheetah to a covered wagon. Seems like you'd lose your 50 mph right there and would've been better off with an ox to begin with (which is what the 2 GHz suggested sys req tells me is happening)! And you're not only locked in to specific hardware and a particularly sparse potential programmer base, you're locked in with a particular OS as well.

What am I missing? (On this particular topic, smarty-pants!)

I'm betting this is sorta a, "Why'd you climb that mountain? B/c it was there," deal however, in which case, "K3wL!!"
