[Virtools] Virtools and web3D

There are a million web3D solutions. Most of them target the e-commerce
market and the world of cell phones and other mass consumer items. Viewpoint
[metastream] seems to have the best solution for this for now and in the
near future. The market for avatar-type communities is less determined, but
blaxxun has a strong base in this area. Pulse and Shout3D are moving well
for character animation and the like. Pulse is particularly strong for this,
but the market for it is unproven.
What sets Virtools apart from any other tool out there is that it is so much
more than e-commerce. I have little interest in e-commerce, except as a
consumer.
I look to Virtools to enable me, a non-programmer, to rapidly create feature
rich, interactive, intelligent, virtual environments. I am giving Virtools
to my programming group to take it even farther.
I use these rich environments for marketing, training, simulation and
entertainment. None of the tools mentioned above are built for these types
of projects. The bulk of web3D solutions beam with pride if they can make a
flip phone flip open. I have invested in Virtools because it is unlike any
other tool.
Before I bought into Virtools, the only other contender was WorldUp r5. It
fell short this time, but it could be a stronger contender in the future. I
prefer the gamer's edge that Virtools has, but Sense8 should be watched.
Eon, now Eon Reality or something, [formerly owned by ProSolvia out of
Sweden] could have been another contender. However, I've used it in the
past, and it was limited. It's also quite expensive. Again, I like the
attitude of Virtools. Tools for the storyteller.
Wow. Quite a long rant and plug for Virtools. You guys should hire me.
Kind regards,
Rob
