Re: [Virtools] New Forums for the Swap-Meet - How to be a Guru

Hello,

I've gotten quite a few mails about becoming a Swap-Meet Guru or forum
moderator. So here is the basic info:

The role of the guru is quite simple:

- Keep the forum on topic and spam free (the Guru can edit and delete
messages)
- If possible, answer questions or refer them to posts that already exist.
- Put out overblown flame wars (my pet peeve: anonymity as an excuse to be
rude)

Each forum can have up to four Gurus so the task is shared (when the title
becomes scarce, the most active Guru keeps the title :)

If you are interested in being a guru:
- you first need to register for the forum
- then send me a request with your user name and which forum you are
interested in moderating, so I can change the admin settings.

| The offending party has been removed from the list, but this is a good
time
| to restate the obvious:
| - if it's not a cmo, nmo, gif or jpg, it's got no place as an attachment
in
| this mailing list, and you should be weary....
| - attachments may be disabled if such abuse continues.
