RE: [Virtools] Virtools Promises and Completion

Hello Marc,

I've known noodlebox.com for a while and really love their work (as they've
always been a leader in innovative interfaces and projects), but I couldn't
spot the shockwave3D projects on their website.

Could you tell me where to look? It's certainly interesting to see what
highly skilled programmers like the noodlebox people can come up with with a
real-time 3D engine.

Thanks

François

Andreas, Try this link then http://www.noodlebox.com/bitsandpieces/
It does work for me. May be the server was down at the time you tried to
look at it.
It is a typical "Demo" but worth having a look at.
I understand your point and I'm not trying to say that Shockwave 3D and
Flash are the same thing. Merely showing the ease of use of Shockwave 3D and
its growing popularity. No doubt there are a lot of interesting things
happening around on the 3D scene.

I've searched for the noodlebox, but found only a dead link...

I would be cautious to make an equation in the way Flash = Shockwave 3D.
Cause, 3D space is at least one step deeper into complexity and Photoshop
may be the preparation platform before the work with Director starts, so Max
is the preparation platform before work with Dev starts (ok, thats also an
equation :).
I think that many webdesigner might get a bit disappointed about the heavier
workload when 3D space begins,
be it with Macromedia, Atmosphere or ... most of the Dev2 user knew _this_
before they bought Dev or Creation.
