RE: [Virtools] Virtools Promises and Competion

Title: Virtools Promises and Competion
right...but unfortunately...virtool's marketing has been directed almost entirely to web 3d...i dont really like director....but you have to admit...they have released a product that we can use...and for less than 4k....
too bad...i always thought that beta tape was better than vhs also.......

Dear Mathieu

Many thanks for your reply, its finally brought these issues up-to-date on this mailing list and I for one am very pleased of the route you are taking. We have a number of projects in the wings which were put on hold in waiting for version 2.0 which is looking far more healthy.

Appologies if the direct tone was a shock, i don't believe in sitting on my hands.  As I've said I firmly believe in Nemo as a Dev tool, having tried almost every other solution out there, ever since using it first in 1998, i've grown to appriciate its immense power. Taking the 3d content production to a unique level which is still way better than anything else.

Keep up the great work.

Kam

Hello all list members,

In reply to Kam's post and to keep our Creation users up to date.

Virtools has decided to stop development of our Creation software. It was a difficult choice for us to make, but we felt it was the only option that would guarantee the quality of our software. With the growing complexity of Virtools products, it has grown unmanageable for us to develop both Creation and Dev simultaneously.

Since Creation 2.0 will not be released, we have looked for alternatives to the free upgrades that were offered with purchase of Creation software. For those of you who have purchased Creation, you will be able to get the complete Virtools Dev 2.0 package at a reduced update price. For those of you who don't wish to take advantage of this offer, for whatever reason, we will be publishing an exclusive version of Dev 2.0 designed specifically for Creation users. This version will be available under the same conditions as Creation 2.0 ($300 if bought before September 1, 2000; free update if bought after September 1, 2000 as promised).

We know users have put their trust in our software, and we made this decision in order to continue providing quality technology.

In the past weeks, we've been preparing the upgrade details and conditions that will go online soon. We'll keep you posted.

A warm thanks to User List contributors from all Virtools employees. You are the ones who make it possible for so many users to move ahead with their projects and development. I hope to touch base again in a future User Day event.

All the best,

Mathieu
