Re: [Virtools] dynamic replay system, using animation recorder?

Hi all,

to record as many animation as you want, you should create one "animation recorder" script, applied to any unrelevant object (like the floor, or a dummy object), and have this script deactivate at start.

Then, when some motorcycle jumps, dynamically copy this script (to the motorcycle for instance), and give the shortcuts attached to the "Object(s)" pIn and the "Animation Name" pIn correct values for this motorcycle.
The script should also detect when the motorcycle as finish its jump, and activate "off" input of "Animation Recorder" BB. Then you could decide whether to remove the script, or keep it for further jump recording.

Hope this helps,

Araya

Subject: [Virtools] dynamic replay system, using animation recorder?

Hi everyone,

Perhaps someone here can help me out here,  I'm trying to build a dynamic replay system,
The animation recorder screams out for such a thing, however I want not one long animation,
but a sequence of short replays.

So I trigger the recording when certain criteria are met,  so in a motorcycle game, I trigger an animation once the bike is pointing skyward, then if the bike comes from the floor, the script deems it a stunt, i then want to save the animation.. and this whenever someone performs a stunt.

I can do this using a sequence of recorders , which create a sequence of global animations,
however the sequence is limited to the amount of recorders connected.

what I thought of was to rename or either copy  the recorded animation  after recording has finished . so a new animtion can be recorded by the recorder,  as many times as is required.

but I cannot copy, rename or manipulate a global animation it seems, as it is not an object in the virtools hierarchy,, is this correct?

if so does anyone have a thought how I can achieve the same effect.
I'm just curious if anyone knows a work around for this..

grtz
