Re: [Virtools] Deploy building block with webplayer?

Dear Adrianus,
I haven't seen you around on this list or on theswapmeet until very
recently.
This leads me to believe that you recently ran into virtools (could be
wrong ofcourse).

Whatever the situation, it seems that you are wholly focussed on web
applications.
The SDK has been of great value to me and loads of other users that
distribute their content on cd or do other non-web projects.

As to your remark that theswapmeet hasn't taken off.... I have no idea
where you get that notion.
The swapmeet is here to help users help other users and is very succesful
in that.
We have a fine community here, of which I'm proud to be a member.

As for a protectionistic approach in virtools' way of structuring their
product range and licensing,
that is for virtools to deceide.
The 3d authoring software market is one in which it is notoriousely
difficult to remain profitable.
The revenue on selling the software is low and the price of giving support
is high.
I've seen many other developers stuble and fall (Superscape and blender for
instance).
IMHO Virtools is doing what is nessecarry to keep their cash flow healthy.
Unfortunately this places a lot of virtools' extra's outside the reach of a
lot of its users...

Greetings, Patrick
