FW: [Virtools] Graphics save options

I haven't figured out how to get the "save as external files" option to
work: if I try saving my CMO with that option, it just loses all its
textures etc.

How do you get it actually to save the data, rather than just losing it?
Or do you have to create an appropriate resource file manually, and then
make sure you always keep it up to date? Or is there any way to get
Virtools to create the resource file for a CMO for you?

Not really, the file size is smaller, but when uncompressed any image
format still uses the same amount of memory, ram or video ram.

What I do is use the file option "external files" (options/general
preferences/miscellaneous controls) throughout the development process.
(this helps with file save times as well). Then when the job is
complete save a version with files included inside CMO for the best
quality, demoing to the client etc. And another version with use
specific format and adjust the jpg compression level until I have
reached an acceptable compromise between file size and image quality.
