Don't know if this helps but perhaps the Sony toy simply performs Edge detection in real-time for every streamed frame from the camera. The largest intensity, detected edges could be considered as a bounding box for an object, Such as your body And hence collision detection could added. When their overlayed image of an object like a fish is copied into the frame a simple calculation could be made about if the object interests the edge detected object ie you In 2D space as that object moves about the 2D image. -----Original Message----- From: owner-virtools-user-group@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:owner-virtools-user-group@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Patrick Hogenboom Sent: Monday, 13 October 2003 12:48 AM To: chris kievid; virtools-user-group@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [Virtools] sony's eyetoy tested with virtools? Well, I think that the eyetoy camera is nothing more than a normal webcam. The real deal is the software that processes the incoming video feed and turns it into controller signals. As you (most likely) don't get the sourcecode, you can't use the software on a PC... Sorry to sound like a kiljoy ;) Ciao, Patrick On Sat, 11 Oct 2003 21:52:52 +0200, chris kievid <chris@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Hi all, > > Having read some articles about sony's "eyetoy" I became interested in > using it as a way to trace people in an environment and use these > parameters as input of our games.
