I'd like to hear, in that case, what you XML processor you *do* use
which can preserve incoming entities, including
<!ENTITY foo SYSTEM "foo.xml">
...
&foo;
the `preservation' of eg α is, by comparison, trivial (since it
just needs a variant output serializer in your XSL engine).
