[xsl] regarding extension elements

hi all,
i am quite comfortable with creating the extension libraries using Java 
methods.I am not sure however , how to create the extension elements, as in 
the example of redirect element in org.apache.xalan.xslt.extensions.Redirect

is there any website that gives info regarding the extension elements??
