[xsl] XRTreeFrag ClassCastException

I'm having a problem running my translation in iPlanet 6.0. Whenever the translator gets to the main <xsl:apply-templates> tag it throws java.lang.ClassCastException: org.apache.xpath.objects.XRTreeFrag.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
