Dear prenom,

So, is there any way, to predict the length of the output of an xsl transformation ?

Not really. The memory footprint of the output will not only be a function of the size of the input, varying from one stylesheet to the next, it'll also depend on a number of factors that are impossible to discern from inside the processor (being the job of the serializer, the operating system or whatever).

Particular processors might give some help with this kind of profiling, but I doubt there's any generic solution possible. (I think somewhere in the archive is an interesting discussion about how such a number could be faked, but it won't be reliable.)

Cheers,
Wendell
