why, if your input allows them in any order?

Also using xsl:attribute makes it a lot more verbose than need be.


If I understand you correctly you just want something like

<xsl:template name="list_servers">
<a href="{webstats[@type='http']/@uri}">MRTG</a>
<a href="{webstats[@type='bytes']/@uri}">Bytes</a>
</xsl:template>

Then the input can be in either order, without affecting the result.
