Subject: (dsssl) Character-Styles in RTF From: "Lukas Pietsch" <pietsch@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Tue, 15 May 2001 18:16:40 +0200 |
Hello, I'm storing some documents in XML and I'm using Jade to output them in either RTF or Html. I wonder if it is possible to make Jade export some formatting information in the form of RTF "character-styles" (with entries in an RTF \stylesheet) instead of mere font formatting commands. I'm quite new to DSSSL and Jade; sorry if I'm asking something obvious. I checked the archive and I'm aware that back in 1999 some people were discussing this, saying it was not possible. I just wondered if any progress has been made on this. It would be a nice feature to have, wouldn't it? The reason I'd like to use it is that some elements in my XML typically contain Unicode characters that are provided for in only very few fonts (for instance IPA characters occurring marked by a <phon> element), so I'd like to have some control over the choice of font in the display, but at the same time not lose the structural information. I've managed it in html output using a <span> element. Thanks a lot, Lukas Pietsch DSSSList info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/dsssl/dssslist
