I had tried this as well way back when, but XT properly does not
distinguish between <BR></BR> and <BR/>, so when I supplied the former, XT
stored the fact it was empty and emitted the latter.

It might work with other XSL processors, but it didn't work with XT, so it
wasn't better in my particular case.

But thanks for the suggestion!

p.s. Here is what I did before ... note I wasn't yet using James' new
result namespace, so the same result is shown now as was then.

T:\xsl>type test.xml
<?xml version='1.0'?>
<doc>
<para>Test 1</para>
<para>Test 2</para>
</doc>

T:\xsl>type test.xsl
<?xml version='1.0'?>

<xsl:template match="para">

</xsl:stylesheet>

T:\xsl>call xsl test.xml test.xsl test.htm
T:\xsl>type test.htm

Test 1<br/>
Test 2<br/>
