I think you're bang on about this. It's happened to me so many times if
the past (and likely will in the future).

Nope, I'm using a PC unfortunately. I'd prefer to do my development
on an Atari ST because it's smaller and I've got a few dozen of them
so I could set them up all around the house to access them whenever I
get a spare moment or the inspiration strikes me. One in the livingroom
would be grand because then I could code and keep an eye on the baby at
the same time.

Surely there must be someone out there who can port WINPLAYBIN or Cheetah
or Wakewav and Dasm and Distella to the Atari ST.

I do have a copy of the genuine 2600/7800 Atari ST development software
but it requires a modified 7800 and a special adaptor to work. Too bad
because it has some really neat tools in it (I really liked the look of
the audio tools).


Incidently, if anyone out there is in the mood to make some more 2600
development tools then I'd like to suggest a really powerful 2600
sound developer.
