Ok. I`ll look at that. But when I set: 
make -f Makefile.jade DEFS="-DSGML_CATALOG_FILES_DEFAULT=/usr/share/sgml/CATALOG -Dsig_atomic_t=int"
it helps (on Linux ;-).
