Our equation editor (first released 10 years ago and, unfortunately,
untouched since then) uses (a 95% implementation of) the AAP math DTD
for its native format.  That is, its native format is SGML (albeit,
a fixed DTD).  (We use TeX as our underlying composition engine.)
