Developers in the free software community deserve better. I love jade and I love TeX, so I really *want* to love jadetex. To start with, I'm using jade 1.1.1, patched with http://tug.org/applications/jadetex/jade.patch.july07 http://tug.org/applications/jadetex/jade-newfiles.zip My jadetex version is 1.0b5, dated 1998/07/02. I know there's a later version, 1998/08/11. However, that version is coupled with additional patches to jade itself which are rather large. Moreover, from Sebastian's comments in the release notes, the newer version dealt mostly with MathML and other mathematical issues, which I don't care about. > Really... Here's a bug report of noted problems. Sebastian, let me know if a later revision is likely to fix these problems. Let me know if you would like a sample document demonstrating the problems. * figure caption widowed (i.e., not on same page with figure) * underlining for <link>s extends to the following punctuational mark (i.e., " ", "-", "."). * if a <link> occurs at the start of a para, the underlining extends all the way to the left margin * insufficient block separatation occurs when the <itemizedlist> or <variablelist> entities start * doesn't have reasonable headers/footers out of the box, might be fixable w/ more research .....A.
