As far as printing is concerned PS<->PDF are equivalent, however, PDF allows the ability to embed clickable links (assuming you are using Acrobat). Although I am definitely no fan of reading PDF documents on screen, I have seen user requests internally requesting SGML formatted to PDF with live links. Needless to say, I have not encouraged these requests. My point is simply that PS and PDF are not quite equivalent on screen.
