Isn't it possible to replace the space between "page" and the page number
with oa Non-breakable space? Or is this to simple?

Yep, too simple.

The objective is to include at least half an inch of dot leaders. This to
make it 'look right'.

===========
In formatting a toc entry, I have long lines.
e.g
a long line of text which nearly comes up against the page reference
......page 67

Another example long line of text which nearly comes up against the
	page reference
......................................................................page
68

If I figure out where the line break has to go (using proportional font
tables),
what entity should I insert in the sgml
to obtain a soft line break in the rtf output? I need that since the
space-after
is quite large and it 'don't look right' with a para spacing.

any help appreciated.
