I did try ... advertisement aside, "Teach Yourself XML in 21 Days" has a 42-page chapter on DSSSL/Jade. I know the book series is popularist (although, believe me, it's harder to write to that level than it is to an expert level) but that was the whole point. I've always appreciated the power that DSSSL gives you over SGML and I would *hate* to see it become a victim to XML's claim of simplicity.
