I suspect that this approach (if I understand it correctly) would require a significantly more complex tool than a tangle/weave pair to make the authoring process reasonable. I think it would also sacrifice the ability to reorder code? Maybe not -- I'm not clear on the limitations of a HyTime linking setup. -----Original Message----- From: owner-dssslist-digest@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:owner-dssslist-digest@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, December 30, 1999 11:30 PM To: dssslist-digest@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: The DSSSList Digest V3 #253 The DSSSList Digest Friday, December 31 1999 Volume 03 : Number 253 In this issue: Re: Issues with literate programming DSSSL Script ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Thu, 30 Dec 1999 23:32:59 -0500 (EST) From: "Russell Steven Shawn O'Connor" <roconnor@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: Re: Issues with literate programming DSSSL Script Just to add my two cents Its seems the ideal way to do literate programming would be to create a property set for whatever language you are using and then use HyTime to hyperlink your documentation to the appropriate parts of you code. That way you don't have any tangle-detangle issues. Creating an environment to implement this would require a lot of work I expect. - -- Russell O'Connor roconnor@xxxxxxxxxxxx <http://www.undergrad.math.uwaterloo.ca/~roconnor/> ``Paradoxically, a refusal to `put a monetary value on life' means that life is often undervalued.'' -- Artificial Intelligence: A Modern Approach DSSSList info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/dsssl/dssslist ------------------------------ End of The DSSSList Digest V3 #253 ********************************** DSSSList info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/dsssl/dssslist
