Hi!

Except for overriding parameters in dbparam.dsl, I'm new to the Modular
DocBook Style Sheets V 1.70 (got NO background in Scheme programming) and
thus having several questions on how to change the default behavior of
various parts of the style sheets:

1. My boss asks me to format headers/footers like this:

("----" refers to a horizontal line below the header/above the footer)

Header for odd pages:

<title> <subtitle> <chapter>
------------------------------------------------------

(That is, <title> and <subtitle> aligned left and separated by a
space; <chapter> aligned right)

Header for even pages:

<chapter> <title> <subtitle>
---------------------------------------------------------

(That is, <chapter> aligned left, <title> and <subtitle> aligned right and
separated by a space)

Footer for odd pages:

<date> (within <bookinfo>) <releaseinfo> page #
--------------------------------------------------------

(That is, <date> (as child of <bookinfo>) aligned left, <releaseinfo>
centered, and the page # aligned right)

Footer for even pages:

page # <releaseinfo> <date> (within <bookinfo>)
------------------------------------------------------------------------

(That is, page # aligned left, <releaseinfo> centered, <date> (as child of
<bookinfo> aligned right)

Is that possible with Jade/Openjade, and if so, what would be a possible
way to do it?

2. How can I vertically center the company logo on the title page, so that
the information contained in <copyright> can be placed on the lower third
of the page?

3. How can I ensure that the <legalnotice> appears near the bottom of the
page?

4. How can I place the <title>s of figures below the figures AND center
them?

5. How can I use small caps for <application>s?

6. How can I change the quotes for <quote> to ">>" and "<<", if the
default language of a <book> is set to German (lang="de" in the <book>
tag)?

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Regards,

	Holger
