Did you have a look at RefDB (http://refdb.sourceforge.net)? This app uses bibliographic references stored in a SQL database and automates the entire bibliography creation process, including the formatting according to publisher's specifications. Works with DocBook SGML and XML (both DSSSL and XSL) as well as with TEI XML/XSL. regards, Markus Pavel Tolkachev writes: > Hello, > > In my DocBook documents I use <xref> links to refer to <biblioentry>. In order to control the text represented the reference and to have it consistent through all the document I used to use "xreflabel" attribute of <biblioentry> and fill it with some symbolic abbreviation of the publication name or similar. I was said, and agreed that simpler number references will look better (in form of [1], [2] etc). Is there any way with jade and DSSSL to further automatize the process, such that the numbers would be generated automatically, according the sequential number of the publication's <biblioentry> element in the <bibliography> element, instead of just changing symbolic references to numbers and then supporting the right sequence manually? > > I do not really care about keeping my xref and xreflabel based scheme, so if anyone has any technique for automatic numeration of bibliography references in DocBook, please let me know. > > Thank you, > Pavel > -- Markus Hoenicka markus.hoenicka@xxxxxxx (Spam-protected email: replace the quadrupeds with "mhoenicka") http://www.mhoenicka.de DSSSList info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/dsssl/dssslist
