I tried to convert an XML document to HTML ... The German 'Umlaute' (ä,ö,ü,ß) however are ruined. ... If the document (or the stylesheet) is not in pure ASCII or UTF8, (e.g. if it is in so-called "Windows ANSI") make sure it has an xml-encoding declaration at the start that describes the actual encoding.
