Subject: RE: [xsl] Using position predicate in XPath string within selectS ingleNode DOM method From: Pieter Reint Siegers Kort <pieter.siegers@xxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Thu, 25 Nov 2004 09:30:20 -0600 |
Exactly David, you're making a good point here... I was using the early XQuery implementation built on .NET and quite enjoyed it and even wrote about it for ASPToday.com and published a few other articles on it on my site pietsieg.com and on topxml.com. But then they abandoned it - the factor of having experienced the bad idea you mentioned may have influenced that decision. Anyway, Xquery is coming in .NET 2.0 and SQL Server 2005 and I can't wait to try and use it. Even Microsoft can't be castigated for not having built a time machine. Having a test implemtation rather loosely based on a draft spec isn't such a bad thing. Installing it as a standard component in the most widely installed operating system on the planet was probably a bad idea (but I think MS have since recognised that) David ________________________________________________________________________ This e-mail has been scanned for all viruses by Star.
