well you have the benefit of knowing what your rules mean, I may have
made the wrong guess in which case my comments may not have made sense.

I thought that the person specifying the style would give more than one
of these rules, specifying what to do if the number of authors are in a
specified range, so
one rule would say what to do if there were more than 5 authors on teh
first occurrence
one rule would say what to do if there are 600 authors on subsequent
occurrences etc..
