I guess, you should be able to do:

<xsl:if test="position() = last()">
   <!-- output the "fixed literal" if want -->
</xsl:if>

the above technique detects that you are in the last iteration of the loop.

if you could post the input and the required output, we might be able
to give some specific solution.
